Jerry Gentry is Vice President of IT Program Management with Nemertes Research where he leads the business unit for project and program management for enterprise clients. Jerry advises Nemertes’ clients on their detailed IT transformation strategies.

Jerry has held IT and IT management positions for some of the world’s largest companies and brings 30 years of professional experience in network, application, and IT services. He has extensive experience in all aspects of voice and data network operations as well as program management, application development and strategic planning.

Most recently, Jerry was global head of network engineering for Marsh & McLennan Companies, where he focused on transformation and technical strategy. Prior to that, Jerry spent several years at Pfizer, where he ran global operations for network services and became network service owner, responsible for the lifecycle management of the network.

Jerry also held positions at IBM, American Express, and AT&T. At IBM, he led several business-critical programs, participated in the contract negotiation for the sale of IBM Network Services to AT&T, and developed a program to transition the internal IBM network to an IP and Ethernet-based service. At American Express, he managed IT infrastructure and computer room design, led the creation of a LAN and IP network, and with that success, he ultimately managed the American Express global data network for all card transactions and shared services. At AT&T, Jerry was
a technical consultant for voice and data systems doing solutions design and project management as part of the customer support organization.

Jerry has an MBA and a bachelor of science degree in political science, both from Arizona State University, with a specific focus on economic and market research. He also has authored a scifi/techno thrill entitled SYN:FIN. He is a life-long runner and cyclist and plays guitar for his own entertainment.
