Microsoft Finally Announces Collaboration Plans

Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) unveiled its much-anticipated collaboration and voice-over IP roadmap last week, underscoring the trend of converged voice, data, and collaboration at the desktop.
Microsoft has lined up several partners, representing represent a broad spectrum of OEMs, service providers and integrators behind its rollout of Office 2007, which includes new versions of Communications Server, Communicator, and LiveMeeting. The end result? Microsoft is integrating a communications system into all its products, built on SIP.
