JaJah: Playing Host to SMBs
Privately held Jajah Inc. announced the release of a low-cost hosted IP-PBX offering
aimed SMBs (but scalable up to 5000 users). The service allows VOIP calls to over 200 countries and the ability to use all devices; mobile, landline, or softphone. It also includes UC functions such as find-me/follow-me, UM, SMS, conference calls, call logging and address book synchronization.
Interest in hosted VOIP is rising among SMBs, but there is still huge opportunity for
growth. In Nemertes; Advanced Communications Services benchmark, 20% of SMBs plan to adopt a hosted VOIP solution.
Impacts:
Enterprises: Evaluate low-cost hosted VOIP solutions that offer additional UC functionality as an alternative to on-premise technology, paying close attention to SLAs and support capabilities.
Vendors: Hosted VOIP with added UC applications represents a tremendous growth opportunity, especially among SMBs.
Investors: Potential impact to competitors with similar low-cost hosted solutions
targeted at micro-businesses, such as Packet8/8x8 Inc.(Nasdaq: EGHT) and privately held RingCentral.
