Mocana Brings Security to Android 

Privately held Mocana released the NanoPhone security suite for the Google
(NASDAQ:GOOG) Android Mobile platform.

In Nemertes' Security and Information Protection benchmark, two-thirds
of organizations have and enforce a security policy for mobile devices and
services. There are two issues to be considered: One-third of organizations
still don't have and/or enforce such a policy, and for those that do, proper
enforcement requires strong mobile security options-which are lacking. Mocana's
offering certainly helps with the latter issue.

Impacts:

Enterprises: Mobile security policy is a first-step. Focus on balance of
authentication, encryption and secure data storage for any mobile technology.

Vendors: Mocana turns up the heat on existing embedded mobile security
providers, RSA (NYSE:EMC) and privately held Discretix and SafeNet.

Investors: Security is the hurdle to enterprise adoption of mobility. Secure
Android puts pressure on Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL), Nokia (NYSE:NOK), Samsung
(SEO:005930) and Sony Ericsson (NYSE:SNE).
