Out-foxing Android 

This week the open source Mozilla project does Google ( NASDAQ: GOOG ) one
better by releasing the FireFox browser for mobile devices. Named Fennec, it is
designed to provide an equivalent user experience to the iPhone, but on the
newer generation of touch screen smart phones from Nokia (NYSE:NOK) and others.

As noted in Nemertes' benchmark volume Next Generation Wireless, open
platforms are evolving quickly in the wireless market. Fennec, with a more open
architecture than the Android platform, proves that this trend is accelerating.

Enterprises: Before you deploy mobility solutions depending on proprietary
platforms, take a close look at the features and capabilities of open platforms.

Vendors: Open platforms for mobility are available and customers want them.
