The Issue:

Virtual servers are slowly moving out of test and development environments
and into production systems. However, most enterprises are securing their new,
virtualized servers just as they do physical servers. To exploit virtualization to its fullest and become vastly more agile, enterprise security teams will have to embrace security tools that can fully cope with servers that move from place to place within a data center or among data centers. Although most security products do not easily support a virtualized infrastructure today, next generation security products are emerging that do, and IT staffs must carefully choose products that support rather than sabotage the virtualization strategy they seek to exploit.
