The Cloud gets Bigger

Wireless Week just announced a study that claims that there will be over 1.7
billion wireless mobile Internet users by the year 2013.

Nemertes' study, The Internet Singularity: Delayed, predicts that
there will be in excess of four billion wireless devices in use worldwide by
2012, up from an estimated 3.1 billion in 2008. If most of those are capable of
accessing the Internet, then Wireless Week's figures are too low. Nemertes
follow on study in the fourth quarter will be refining these figures.

Impacts:

Enterprises: Wireless will increasingly be the way your employees and
customers reach you through the Internet. You need to be accessible in a way
that is friendly to that environment.

Vendors: The demand is coming and your networks need to be ready.

Investors: The tidal wave of Internet use that is coming will raise the
entire wireless market. Investments in this space are a good bet.
