Mitel Aims at SMB UC

Privately held Mitel Networks introduced Mitel Applications Suite 1.1 to
deliver unified communications capabilities including integrated audio and web
conferencing, unified messaging, and mobility features for SMB users of its 3300
and 5000 Internet Communications platform. This announcement underscores
increasing interest in UC within the SMB market.

SMB adoption of UC is as strong as broader enterprise adoption. Eighty-one
percent of SMB IT executives participating in Nemertes' upcoming benchmark,
Unified Communications and Collaboration, plan to adopt unified
communications or have already started deployments, compared with 82% of
participants overall.
