Alvarion Scores a Hole in One

Alvarion (NASDAQ:ALVR) announced that it would build the first U.S. mobile
WiMAX deployment in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This installation will support
roaming WiMAX access, as well as fixed access for privately held Digital Bridge
Corporation (DBC) customers. It will include base station equipment as well as
aircards.

Nemertes noted in its study, The Internet Singularity: Delayed, that
next generation wireless services could be a viable way to relieve access
congestion. Alvarion's deployment supports this idea.

Impacts:

Enterprises: WiMAX is definitely in play. Implementations are popping up
world wide and the Jackson Hole deployment signals the beginning of availability
here in the U.S.

Vendors: Alvarion is currently providing aircards to DBC, but does not intend
to continue to resell them. This is an opportunity for vendors like Intel
(NASDAQ: INTC) that will build the transceiver electronics for WiMAX.

Investors: WiMAX will open a lot of increased investment in wireless. Watch
carriers and vendors that are moving quickly to deploy this technology.
