Apr 11, 2012 We’ve all had to face it: At some time the data center will run out of something - space, power, tolerance. When that happens, we're faced with the daunting task of a data center migration. The server team tells you that the equipment can’t be moved. You have to manage this while keeping your budget flat. Attendees to this webinar will hear tried-and-true tactics for avoiding the most common mistakes that IT professionals make when migrating data centers. They'll learn how to make their data center migration projects seamless--and painless. Topics include:

Apr 10, 2012 It's no secret that enterprises are getting inundated with data. Employees and customers are creating (and distributing) more information than ever before. But this isn't the same storage growth IT has been wrestling with for the last 20 years. Customers and staff are bringing in and sending out huge volumes of new kinds of data, especially audio and video. Nonhuman devices are getting into the act as well: from sensor networks to security cameras to ordinary infrastructure devices (servers, switches, routers), gear of all types is happily spewing log entries and swapping data streams. The end result is more than an information tsunami you can deal with by throwing disk at the problem, it is a permanent rise in sea level that can flood networks and overwhelm traditional techniques for managing and using structured and unstructured data. At the same time, IT staff are increasingly asked to come up with new ways to mine that data--both statically and in real time--to uncover critical trends and actionable business ideas. In this Webinar, you'll learn:

Mar 13, 2012 For most enterprises, the path to mobile device management starts with ActiveSync. With the surge of BYOD, many enterprises are re-focusing mobile strategy to not only support, but also leverage the capabilities of a rapidly expanding array of devices based on a variety of mobile operating systems and push out their own applications. Is ActiveSync up to the job of supporting a growing range of devices and applications? At what point should companies consider an alternative mobile device management system and why? |
Feb 14, 2012 There is more to IT transformation than new technologies crossing functional boundaries and requiring far greater integration. In fact, what is imperative for success is how efficiently the IT organization's operating model can respond to (and anticipate) the business demands for new technology. The IT organization can be a key enabler and strategic partner—or a huge roadblock. Nemertes guides IT organizations through the transformation maze to ensure they do become a strategic partner. Transformation is not a point-in-time achievement; rather, it’s a framework for success that leads to partnership with the business, along with the elevation of and reliance on IT leaders. Fortunately, there are several functional elements that provide the baseline for transformation. In this webinar, we will explain why transformation should be a mission-critical priority for any IT organization and what your top priorities should be at all stages of the transformation lifecycle. |
Jan 17, 2012 Microsoft has garnered a lot of attention among IT architects for its Lync unified communications platform. Combining voice, video, instant messaging, presence, and conferencing, Lync raises as many questions as it answers: Is it an IP telephony replacement? How does it fit into my existing telephony/video environment? What are my options for supporting an increasing mobile workforce? During this informative webinar we'll answer these questions and more. We'll look at how IT buyers are approaching Lync, what concerns they have, what questions they should ask, and we'll provide our recommendations for the ideal go-forward strategy. Presenters:

Aug 10, 2011 What is a private cloud? What’s in your private cloud? Simple questions. Complex answers. There is the classical definition centered around self-provisioning from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), but many organizations are implementing private clouds – and calling them private clouds – without self-provisioning. Why? How can this be a private cloud? Reality is private cloud means different things to different IT architects. What’s required is a broader view of private cloud where we turn the focus to features, functions and benefits, and away from rigid nomenclature. In other words we take into account a private cloud’s value to the organization in addition to its functional characteristics. |

Jun 19, 2011 In today's fragmented, tumultuous security market, it's easy to spend money. What's not so easy is figuring out how to invest in a security portfolio that truly protects organizations against a growing universe of threats, including national and nationalist actors and hacktivists. And the stakes have never been higher: As security breaches have become almost daily news, the consequences of a breach can be disastrous. For those building security solutions for their companies, the fundamental challenge is this: Selecting best-of-breed solutions creates an integration mess, yet choosing a strategic single-vendor solution can leave dangerous coverage gaps. And for security vendors, ensuring the right mix of feature-functionality is often a moving target. In this must-see webinar, Nemertes Senior Vice President and Founding Partner Andreas M. Antonopoulos and Principal Research Analyst John E. Burke provide comprehensive security buyer's guide to help IT executives develop a roadmap for security purchases, and spotlighting areas in which vendors can beef up their product roadmaps. They'll guide you through the 5 strategic imperatives in product selection, the re-alignment of long term security strategy and a technology roadmap that allows you to evolve security as new technologies and threats emerge. |
May 11, 2011 Despite the fact that available IPv4 address space is rapidly dwindling, few companies are actively exploring, much less planning to implement IPv6. Chief among the reasons for delay is the lack of business case for IPv6, and the confusion around what IPv4 address depletion actually means to organizations. Meanwhile key questions remain such as "how quickly to plan for v6 adoption?" "how to adopt?" and "what are the key pain points in adoption?" Join us for this informative webinar as we provide IT managers with an IPv6 reality check - what's the true state of IPv4 and IPv6 adoption, what are the risks and challenges, and finally, what should IT planners do now, in the next 12 months, and beyond. |

Dec 20, 2010 The virtual enterprise has brought with it new ways of working, a huge expansion of the footprint of the network and erosion of the perimeter, rendering traditional firewall solutions insufficient. Today’s firewall must evolve to meet completely new requirements, in the data center, in the branch and for the roaming user, on the road. The next evolution of the firewall has to combine dynamic policy-based security with performance, rapid scaling, high availability and application intelligence. Firewalls are no longer just perimeter devices for the data center, but should be weaved into the fabric of the network from edge to edge, offering security that is layered in-depth and ubiquitous. |
Nov 15, 2010 How do we reach the private cloud? Some believe we should head for the public cloud but stop short of the firewall. Others believe it is just a few steps past virtualization. Though there is truth in both statements neither gets us to the private cloud. Two things are missing: a clear route and enough knowledge of the endpoint to know when we have arrived. In this webinar, please join Nemertes senior analyst Ted Ritter as he defines the private cloud and the five steps to get there: Virtualization, Reorganization, Optimization, Orchestration and Management (VROOM). |
